Sonja Ferrara, RN | Director of Nursing

Sonja has been a Registered Nurse for over 17 years in the Tacoma/Pierce County area.  She started her nursing career at St. Joseph Medical Center and later moved on to Franciscan Hospice.  During her time with hospice, she realized she had a passion for working with the geriatric population.  This became her specialty and she has been working in the Senior Living Industry since 2008.  She is a skilled and respected leader for senior care nursing.

Sonja believes in the concept of Servant Leadership and practices nursing from a holistic approach to care.  She has found that these styles promote and yield improved health and well-being in both residents and staff.  She sees a critical link between resident satisfaction and staff contentment.  She brings a strong ability to build health services teams to Trouves.  Sonja values staff enjoying their work, therefore providing excellent resident care.

When she’s not working Sonja enjoys spending time with her family.  She and her husband Mike have 4 grown children and 1 grandchild.
